A Spike Lee joint
Grumpus and I saw this movie last Saturday and enjoyed it very much, thank you. Enough so that we’re tracking box office numbers again. After the obligatory rant on Mr. Lee’s flirtation with pretentiousness, down to his calling a movie a “joint”, we agreed that we both found his 2003 film engaging and compelling. I caught the beginning on cable and couldn’t stop watching.
Anyway, this new one has the same insistent quality that keeps you hooked. I couldn’t stop wondering how it would end, and had a big smile on my face when it did.
